It was absolute MAGIC, many shivers were felt and tears were shed! It was an incredible way to come together and celebrate our community after everything we've been through over the last 2 years.

24:: HUGE choir covers Lianne La Havas "Unstoppable" - during lockdown mosaic style!
01.01.1970 01:00:00 30.03.2021 09:15:18 Recorded on phones during the 2020 lockdown, Melbourne Indie Voices release new single & film clip ‘Unstoppable’.
The Melbourne Indie Voices community refused to surrender their weekly connection during lockdown and moved rehearsals online. The 290 piece choir swelled, attracting new members from all over the world searching for a way to connect musically in a time of social distance and shutdown.
Artistic director Phia says “We wanted to create a space to foster connection for our community and were amazed and heartened to learn that being a choir is more than just meeting in a space and singing, it’s people coming together to share their love of music and connect when times are easy and hard. We wanted to document and celebrate the irrepressible strength of our community and decided the song “Unstoppable” by Lianne La Havas captured the feeling perfectly!”
Created by acclaimed filmmaker Sarah Jane Woulahan and and mixed by producer/engineer Nick Huggins, the song was arranged by Phia with guitar and effects by Joshua Teicher. The members of MIV recorded their parts using phones and sent videos of themselves singing their parts in front of bedsheets and garage doors in their homes. These were collated into an incredible mosaic piece by Sarah Jane Woulahan with additional footage filmed in studio as restrictions eased.
“Unstoppable” is a celebration of all the communities that found new strength during the difficult times of 2020.
