Adrian gives a design overview of three types of transmission: manual, automated manual (AMT) and fully automatic. These designs rely on tailored lubricant performance to deliver power as efficiently as possible under a variety of workloads, whilst protecting the system components.

01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 04.04.2023 · 10:12:48 ··· ··· ··· ··· ··· ··· In this episode, Morris Lubricants Technology Manager, Adrian Hill and Guy Martin ‘look into the near future’ and talk about the move towards the Euro VII emissions standard for commercial vehicle engines and the steps that are being taken to ensure compliance.
Euro VII will see a further reduction in exhaust emissions with after treatment devices becoming even more efficient. New engines will also be designed to run on thinner oils to further promote fuel efficiency and reduce CO2 output. Fleet managers, HGV mechanics and workshop technicians will start to see an increase in demand for this new generation of thinner engine oils.
Adrian explains to Guy how Morris Lubricants are already working with the different original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and various suppliers to develop the correct oil formulations for the new Euro VII engine designs as they begin to emerge.

In this episode, Adrian and Guy discuss the developments in commercial vehicle engines over recent years. The progression from the Euro I emissions standard for engines, back in the 1990s, to the current Euro VI release, has seen tougher limits implemented in order to reduce emission levels and promote fuel efficiency improvements. Adrian and Guy review the technology that has evolved to ensure compliance, including the function of aftertreatment devices such as diesel particulate filters (DPFs) and AdBlue Catalysts.
Adrian also explains to Guy how important it is for Morris Lubricants to make sure they develop tailored engine oil formulations to enhance the performance of these commercial vehicle engines and keep trucks on the road and out of the workshop.
