The startling discovery of ₹4.8 crores in cash, seized by the Flying Squad Team, has raised significant concerns regarding the integrity of the electoral process.

In part 44 of Majlishpur segment, the voter turnout was 105.30 percent.
In parts 25 and 44 of Khayerpur segment, the voter turnout was 100.15 and 98.80 percent.
In part 38 of Mohanpur segment, the voter turnout was 109.09 per cent. While speaking to Indian Express, Jitendra Chaudhury stated that this data was sourced from station-wise turnout reports which were made available to his party by the returning officer’s office. This data is not publicly available, it can be accessed on demand. On the other hand, the returning officer, Vishal Kumar through a press release, stated that the polling was held in a “free and fair manner”. For part 44 of Majlishpur segment, Vishal Kumar stated that voter turnout exceeded due to officials deployed for election duty casted their vote at the said polling station, although their votes were not registered there. Returning officer, Vishal Kumar has also issued a clarification that issues raised in the complaints were scrutinised in presence of all representatives of all political parties on 20th April.

The Election Commission has booked the incumbent BJP MP and their candidate, Tejashwi Surya for 'soliciting votes on the grounds of religion'. The case has been booked by the ECI against Tejashvi Surya’s recent post on the social media platform X. The case was booked on April 25, that is yesterday. This case was registered by the ECI just a day before the seat on which Tejashvi Surya is contesting went for polling. EC in a statement said that they booked Tejasvi Surya for posting a video on X handle, and soliciting votes on grounds of religion. The video which Tejashwi Surya posted was a video of Ayodhya Ram Temple. He in his post’s caption wrote that 'after a wait of almost 500 years and wish of crores of Indias was fulfilled by PM Modi.'

4:: BJP Candidate K Sudhakar Booked For Alleged Bribery; ₹4.8 Crore Seized In Chikkaballapura
01.01.1970 01:00:00 26.04.2024 15:05:42 In Karnataka, a case has been filed against BJP candidate K. Sudhakar for alleged bribery and undue influence, with ₹4.8 crores seized, as per the Election Commission on April 26.
Meanwhile, in Kerala, the Wayanad police have registered a case concerning the discovery of approximately 1,500 kits, stocked with daily provisions, from a trading establishment in Sulthan Bathery. These kits are suspected to have been prepared to “influence voters”.
On Friday, the Election Commission revealed that K. Sudhakar, a prominent BJP candidate and former minister, is facing serious allegations of bribery and voter influence, as per an FIR filed by the Static Surveillance Team at a police station in Karnataka.
The charges, under sections 123 of the Representative of the People Act and 171(B, C, E, F) of the IPC, highlight Sudhakar's purported involvement in these illicit activities. The startling discovery of ₹4.8 crores in cash, seized by the Flying Squad Team, has raised significant concerns regarding the integrity of the electoral process.

But, the polling during the first-phase in Tripura saw some unique voter turnout records. The opposition CPM has made this demand. They have written to the Election Commission of India. CPM has flagged “official claims” of voter turnouts of more than 100 percent in three Assembly segments of Tripura West constituency. The secretary of Tripura CPM, Jitendra Chaudhury had cited figures which he said were sourced from the office of the returning officer. The allegations which Jitendra Chaudhury is making is that;
In part 44 of Majlishpur segment, the voter turnout was 105.30 percent.
In parts 25 and 44 of Khayerpur segment, the voter turnout was 100.15 and 98.80 percent.
In part 38 of Mohanpur segment, the voter turnout was 109.09 per cent. While speaking to Indian Express, Jitendra Chaudhury stated that this data was sourced from station-wise turnout reports which were made available to his party by the returning officer’s office. This data is not publicly available, it can be accessed on demand. On the other hand, the returning officer, Vishal Kumar through a press release, stated that the polling was held in a “free and fair manner”. For part 44 of Majlishpur segment, Vishal Kumar stated that voter turnout exceeded due to officials deployed for election duty casted their vote at the said polling station, although their votes were not registered there. Returning officer, Vishal Kumar has also issued a clarification that issues raised in the complaints were scrutinised in presence of all representatives of all political parties on 20th April.

The Chief Electoral Officer of Karnataka posted on X, and I quote, ""Case is booked against Tejasvi Surya MP and Candidate of Bengaluru South PC on 25.04.24 at Jayanagar PS u/s 123(3) for posting a video in X handle and soliciting votes on the ground of religion,""
Tejasvi Surya, who is running for re-election from the Bengaluru South seat, stated on Thursday that although 80 per cent of people support the BJP, only 20 per cent actually vote for it. Conversely, he mentioned that the Congress has the support of only 20 per cent of people, but 80 per cent of them vote for the party.

On Wednesday, both groups conducted separate meetings to showcase their strength and get a clearer picture of which MLA stands where. However, In a surprising turn of events, independent MLA Devendra Bhuyar who attended Sharad Pawar's meeting in the afternoon, switched sides later in the evening joining Ajit Pawar's camp. Both factions are making continuous claims about having the support of the MLAs. Who is Devendra Bhuyar? Devendra Bhuyar is known to be a supporter of Ajit Pawar. He was elected as a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from Morshi on October 24, 2019. Bhuyar gained prominence when he defeated Dr. Anil Bonde, a BJP leader and national general secretary. Devendra Bhuyar is considered to be in close proximity to Ajit Pawar. Currently, Maharashtra's new Deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar, has the backing of 40 elected party officials, including MLAs, MLCs, and MPs. However, Ajit Pawar needs the support of 36 MLAs, which constitutes a two-thirds majority of the party's total 53 legislators, before the EC (Election Commission) can consider his claim. Ajit is currently short of 4 MLAs. Furthermore, there are 3 MLAs who have not attended any of the meetings. Devendra Bhuyar's support would help Ajit Pawar bolster his strength, but it would not make a difference in the fight for the party name and symbol, as he would require the support of two-thirds of the NCP MLAs, and independent MLAs would not make a difference in this scenario. Hence, these 3 MLAs hold the utmost importance for Ajit in order to move closer to his goal of asserting his claim over the party and its symbol. Subsequently, on Sunday night, the NCP filed a disqualification petition against Ajit Pawar and eight MLAs who were sworn in as ministers in the Eknath Shinde-led government. The NCP claimed that Ajit lacks the support of 36 party MLAs, while the party's working president and Ajit's cousin, Supriya Sule, mentioned that his defection would not impact their relationship. Interestingly, the ongoing situation reveals an uncommon aspect of party splits. Ajit Pawar is yet to disclose the number of supporting MLAs, apart from the nine who were sworn in as ministers on Sunday. In fact, Ajit Pawar states that the entire party stands united with him. With the NCP possessing 53 MLAs and nine MLCs, the support of 36 is crucial for Ajit Pawar to assert his claim over the party and its symbol; otherwise, he faces disqualification. 27:: Haryana Govt announces pension for Unmarried | Manohar Lal Khattar | Congress | Assembly Elections

The Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar-led Haryana government has decided to introduce a pension scheme for unmarried people in the age group between 45 and 60 years in the state. The announcement was made by the CM during a public outreach event in response to a demand by a 60-year-old bachelor. People having an annual earning of less than 1.8 lakh are eligible for the scheme. According to the report prepared by the CM's office, about 1.25 lakh unmarried people from the state are likely to benefit from the scheme. However, the official number is yet to be decided. The amount for the pension scheme could be similar to that of the old age pension scheme. However, government officials are yet to confirm the official figure. The Haryana government is already disbursing pensions to senior citizens, widows, differently-abled individuals, dwarfs, and transgenders in the state. During the program, CM Khattar also announced an increase in the old-age pension by Rs 250, taking it to Rs 3,000 per month. According to the figures from 2020, Haryana had about 35,000 brides from other states like West Bengal, Assam, Kerala, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. There is only moving forward," said Shah Faesal, an IAS officer, just days ahead of a scheduled hearing of a batch of pleas related to the abrogation of Article 370 before a five-judge Constitution bench of the Supreme Court. Now, who is Shah Faesal, and why has his statement made news? Faesal, a 2010-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, was detained for more than a year after the provisions of Article 370 were abrogated, and the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir was bifurcated into Union territories in August 2019. He resigned from service and launched the Jammu Kashmir People’s Movement, a political entity, in January 2019. The government, however, did not accept his resignation, and Faesal, who is also a doctor, was subsequently posted to the Union Ministry of Culture. Faesal filed a petition in the Supreme Court in 2019, challenging the Centre’s decision to scrap Article 370. In April 2022, the government accepted Faesal’s application to withdraw his resignation from service and reinstated him. In the same month, Faesal filed an application in the court seeking the deletion of his name from the list of seven petitioners who had challenged the scrapping of Article 370. Nearly four years after the government abrogated Article 370, which bestowed a special status on the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, a five-judge Constitution bench headed by Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud will take up a batch of pleas challenging the decision for a hearing on July 11.
