During a recent tasting session, we tasted the 2017 Jonata Todos and it was a full bodied tannic red from Ballard Canyon. There was little question about the very high quality of the wine. It was highly impressive but could it be even better? We decided to decant it to see just how damn good this bottle really was. We decanted the Todos for 2 hours prior to doing a side by side comparison with a freshly opened bottle. The difference was eye opening to say the least.

The Wilderness trail is a bourbon-esque rye that we loved when we picked it and love it now! So much deliciousness going on. If you don't think you like rye, pick up a bottle and be wowed. The Four Roses is an intense aromatic monster with loads of goodness. It is a stunner. Rich gives all that haven't had the privilege of picking at Four Roses and peak into what makes the experience so memorable.

The 2020 vintage is superb with a classic nature behind the wines. Catenac Brown is a 3rd growth estate from Margaux on the Left Bank. With a heavy dose of Cabernet Sauvignon, this is full bodied dense wine that undoubtedly aged gracefully in the cellar. Being the impatient wine nerds they are, the boys wanted to open it immediately! At least it was decanted...

Copper & Cask uses this designation for their MGP barrels aged in Florida hence MF. We absolutely love the richness, character, and intense flavors these MF barrel produces. As long as they maintain their access to these barrels, the Rhody Barrel Brotherhood is going to continue picking them!

We expect very big things from Copper & Cask after a recent visit to their aging warehouse. Like VERY BIG THINGS which the RBB team is ready to pounce all over. In fact, this is our second pick from them and already have more things on the way.

11:: Should You Decant Your Wines? Featuring the 2017 Jonata Todos!

During a recent tasting session, we tasted the 2017 Jonata Todos and it was a full bodied tannic red from Ballard Canyon. There was little question about the very high quality of the wine. It was highly impressive but could it be even better? We decided to decant it to see just how damn good this bottle really was. We decanted the Todos for 2 hours prior to doing a side by side comparison with a freshly opened bottle. The difference was eye opening to say the least.

We were introduced to the brand a number of months back when we tasted a Double Oaked Barrel Pick which was special. Maybe the best Double Oaked Bourbon we've ever had. In this video, Rich and Taylor review and discuss the new Rhody Barrel Brotherhood George Remus Bourbon Cask Strength Store pick! Consumers love all things MGP Bourbon so for the latest private selection the RBB boys went right to the source of MGP. In a recent change in how they market and represent their own in-house products, George Remus Bourbon comes in as the Ross & Squibb Distillery. This barrel of Bourbon comes in at 54.55% with mashbill of 75% Corn, 21% Rye, and 4% Malted Barley. While we don't have an actual age statement, all the barrels selected by Ross & Squibb for this program were between 5 to 7 years old.
