Sometimes a painful affliction is Satan's attack; sometimes it is the consequence of sin; but sometimes it is the discipline of a loving God who is good and who is doing something good in your life.
We learn from Psalm 119.65-72 God is a huge boulder who cannot be moved, and that sometimes disciplines us for our growth. This is a good thing.
