According to Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974, the tariffs will expire automatically after four years, but can be extended if the US Trade Representative’s office receives a request from domestic industries that benefited. The additional duties on Chinese imports was initiated by former US President Donald Trump in 2018. The duties cover goods including industrial inputs such as microchips and chemicals, and consumer merchandise such as apparel and furniture, according to Bloomberg. In total, the US sanctioned Chinese imports were worth US$300 billion as of 2019, creating a “massive” trade deficit. China called it “unfair”./media:description> media:community> media:starRating count="9" average="5.00" min="1" max="5"/> media:statistics views="73"/> /media:community> /media:group> /entry> entry> id>yt:video:b2EDCZ0M89A/id> yt:videoId>b2EDCZ0M89A/yt:videoId> yt:channelId>UC2pncF4cXmgRawf1yyindiQ/yt:channelId> title>Locked-Down City Apologizes After Crash Of Testing System/title> link rel="alternate" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2EDCZ0M89A"/> author> name>SOH News/name> uri>https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2pncF4cXmgRawf1yyindiQ/uri> /author> published>2022-09-05T22:59:38+00:00/published> updated>2024-05-25T16:36:06+00:00/updated> media:group> media:title>Locked-Down City Apologizes After Crash Of Testing System/media:title> media:content url="https://www.youtube.com/v/b2EDCZ0M89A?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="390"/> media:thumbnail url="https://i3.ytimg.com/vi/b2EDCZ0M89A/hqdefault.jpg" width="480" height="360"/> media:description>Photos show that the epidemic control personnel mistook weak web signal strength as the cause for the crash.
