Bible Matters with Chuck Schussman In this lesson, we address the following topics:
1. Who wrote the extra books in the Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholic Bibles?
History of purgatory?
2. Where did the idea/teaching about Purgatory come from?
3. How does the teaching ministry of the Holy Spirit fit in with the views of tradition and Scripture that we've been talking about? Especially see 1 John 2:20, 27.
4. What is the Protestant understanding of Tradition? (We begin to answer this question, but will still be addressing it in the next meeting.)
This is part of a larger planned teaching on the Five Solas of the Reformation.
