Putin on Africa leaders' peace proposal to negotiations: But Ukraine refuses to negotiate with us

ShanghaiEye魔都眼 The leaders of Central African Republic, Mali and Burkino Faso on Friday (July 28) thanked Russia for its military support and promises of grain shipments to their countries on the second day of the second Russia-Africa summit and economic forum.
The summit, kicked off Thursday in St. Petersburg, saw leaders from 17 African countries present, fewer than 43 leaders who participated in the first Russia-Africa summit in 2019.
As many leaders are frustrated with Russia over the fallout of the grain deal that allowed for the passage of Ukrainian grains through the Black Sea, which Russia pulled out of last week, Putin spoke at the summit on Thursday, that Russia was ready to supply six African countries with between 25,000 and 50,000 tons of grain free of charge.
He also accused Kyiv of breaking promises and leaning towards NATO, noting Zelensky signed a decree that prohibits any talks with Russia.
Still South Africa's President Cyril Ramaphosa addressed the summit that he hopes "constructive engagement and negotiation" can bring about an end to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
