Chapter 21 is a very intense study. In fact, to me, it seems to be much more intense that those that come before. Prophecy of news to be coming to the people is given. The metaphor for the use of Babylon as God's rod of discipline is given as a sword. Many descriptors of the sword and its use are given leaving no doubt as to the mission of Babylon. Ezekiel is upset, because not only are the people being judged for their sin, but also because they are his people, and he loves them.
