President Joe Biden left the White House Friday for East Palestine, Ohio, more than a year after a train derailment caused a deadly explosive fire there.
The president's visit to the village of 5,000 people comes at the invitation of its mayor - but it also comes amid criticism from many Republicans that it took far too long.
The White House says Biden waited for the right moment to visit East Palestine, but critics say in the meantime, he's ignored the victims in the town, where chemicals and hazardous waste spread because of the fire.
