Dear Pastor Bob: I know the Bible says we are supposed to honor our parents, but what if they are abusive? His unkind behavior not only affects me, but also affects my family. Are we just supposed to live with it in order to respect him as the Bible says to do? I have talked to him about his cruel behavior, but he just shrugs it off and tells me that I deserve it. He has been this way to me all of my life. I have a young family, and I really don't want them to be around this. I would protect my children from people like him if he wasn't my father! I need some advice!
