Elon Musk Reacts On DeSantis Shocking Announcement!
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis declared on Twitter's audio platform on Wednesday that he is running for president in the Republican primary, formally announcing a match with the party's current front-runner, former President Donald Trump, after technical difficulties caused the start to be delayed by 25 minutes. Elon Musk, also the CEO of Twitter, declared that if Florida Governor Ron DeSantis decides to run for president in 2024, he has his support.
The statement was made by Musk in a tweet back in November 2022.
A Twitter user questioned Elon, "Would you endorse Ron DeSantis in 2024?
"Yes," Musk answered.
Tim Young, a right-wing comedian, brought up the fact that Trump hasn't tweeted since his suspension was lifted, prompting Musk to make the statement.
Musk wrote, "Deplatforming a sitting President eroded public trust in Twitter for half of America. I'm fine with Trump not tweeting, but Twitter needs to remedy a grave mistake in blocking his account, despite no violation of the law or terms of service.
Musk revealed that he voted for President Biden over Donald Trump in 2020 after stating that he would back DeSantis in a potential 2024 race.
As a reminder, Musk stated, "I was a big admirer of the Obama-Biden administration and (reluctantly) voted for Biden over Trump. However, Twitter as a platform must be equitable to everybody.
Musk declared in May that he was unable to continue to back the Democratic Party.
Because Democrats were (usually) the party of goodwill, I used to vote Democratic. I can no longer support them and will instead cast my vote for the Republican party since they have turned into a party of hatred and division, stated Musk.
After months of rumors about whether he would take on former President Donald Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis formally announced his bid for the presidency.
At a gathering with Twitter CEO Elon Musk and tech investor David Sacks, he declared, "I'm running for president of the United States to lead our great American comeback." "But we are aware that our nation is heading in the wrong direction. With our own eyes, we can see it. And it affects us physically.
With those words, DeSantis, who easily won reelection last year and attracted the attention of a party eager to move past previous setbacks, began a new chapter in his quest to unseat Vice President Joe Biden in 2024. DeSantis entered the Republican primary later than other candidates, but he has an advantage over the competition in terms of campaign funding and polling support as he launches his campaign.
DeSantis asked Republicans to support him in his inaugural speech to the public, painting a bleak picture of a nation he claimed is headed in the wrong direction under Biden.
I will take the oath of office as the 47th President of the United States on the west side of the US Capitol, DeSantis said. "My pledge to you is this: If you nominate me, you can set your clock to January 20, 2025, at high noon," he said. I will do the task; I have no excuses.
