First things first, when you're having a hot cross bun you HAVE TO have a wedge of butter on it. If you're not using salted butter and you're using plain, then you need to go away and think hard about your actions.
So first up, I thought the caramel and burnt sugar notes of a bourbon would compliment the sweet and spiced notes of a hot cross bun and boy was I right!
Next up, i think I'll try it with a smokey whisky. What would you pair with a hot cross bun?
