Farmers lament lack of consultation on maturity requirement of avocados for export

Kenya CitizenTV Fresh produce exporters are protesting a circular issued by the Agriculture and Food Authority stipulating the maturity of avocado fruits meant for exports in different regions. According to Okisegere Ojepat the Chief Executive Officer of the Fresh Produce Consortium, the country could lose upwards of 20 percent in export volumes should farmers result to holding back their produce
