In this video I will cover two topics: 1) the relationship between the #shemitah and 6000 years between creation and the the return of #Yeshua the Messiah, and 2) how we can know from the Bible that this current shemitah cycle will end in the fall of #2029. Multiple chronologists, based on careful Bible study and history, confirm that year 6000 will be reached in this generation! We do not know for certain, but we do know his return is very soon, if not the end of this shemitah, then maybe the next!
Torah states the land will have its sabbaths (the 7th year of every shemitah cycle) and that the land will rest for all its missed shemitah years (Leviticus 26:34-35). Therefore, the earth will not surpass 6000 years in age before the 7th #millennium and it will lie desolate during that time (Book of Revelation) to make up for the 1000 missed shemitah years.
Moreover, Psalm 90:4 and 2 Peter 3:8 states 1 day=1000 years. Early church fathers such as Irenaeus (taught by Polycarp who was taught by the disciple John) stated that earth will end after 6000 years. The Quran also indicates a day equals 1000 years (Al Hajj 22:47) and that the 7th day is when God ascends His throne (Al Furqaan 25:59). Simple math shows 5999/7 is a whole number, the end of shemitah year 5999 being the beginning of year 6000 and also a Jubilee year!
Can we know that 2029 ends a shemitah year with confidence? Yes! In Daniel 9 the Hebrew word “shabua” are shemitah cycles and thus years, not weeks as commonly translated. Therefore we know that #Yeshua was predicted 69 shemitah cycles, or 483 years, after the decree of Xerxes in 457 BCE which would have been the first year of a shemitah cycle. 27 CE, when Yeshua began his ministry, was also the first year of the shemitah cycle in which he brought an end to sacrifice 3.5 years later, thus fulfilling the prophecy of Daniel 9. Simple counting from those points indicates that 2029 is the end of the current shemitah cycle.
