This is so simple, it’s painful. It’s my go to after ANY bad day at work.
✨ I pretend I’m Adam Kay✨
I start off by pretending I’m writing my dramatic, tell-all autobiography, opening the lid on the realities of life as a doctor ☕️🩺
And within two sentences, I’ve forgotten, and I’m writing (and processing) all the deep feelings and emotions I’d never feel comfortable sharing 💭
Obviously, these activities aren’t pointless. Consciously, I recognize that.
But subconsciously, I’m an eldest daughter who has always felt an intrinsic urge to strive for every form of external validation available.
This makes sitting down and journaling so hard because it’s all internal. Processing my bad day at work and all the ugly feelings that come with it just for me, with no external gold medal on offer.
