This piece is based on the fairy tale “De Has un de Swinegel”. “Ich bün all dor” is a moderately difficult piece for two players and can be interpreted as a humorous miniature piece of musical theatre (including pantomime, interaction...). The instrumental setup itself already has a dramatic element. Besides two snare drums, there is also a floor tom played by both performers, above which a bell is mounted that symbolically represents the rounds of the race (similarly to the bell during a boxing match).
The patterns, which become gradually denser and more intricate as the piece progresses, have a complementary rhythmic structure and require the performers to show their skill in playing together as a duo.
