Aaj Tak HD Women in Sandeshkhali took to streets with brooms and sticks, demanding the immediate arrest of TMC leader Sheikh Shahjahan and his two aides Shiba Prasad Hazra and Uttam Sardar. The women alleged that Shahjahan and his aides had assaulted and exploited them for years. On Saturday, the police imposed Section 144 in various areas of Sandeshkhali and an internet shutdown in 16 panchayats. The protesters attacked properties belonging to Hazra and set fire to his poultry farms. Governor C V Ananda Bose described the situation as “ghastly, shocking, and shattering to my senses”.
संदेशखाली में महिलाएं टीएमसी नेता शेख शाहजहां और उनके दो सहयोगियों शिबा प्रसाद हाजरा और उत्तम सरदार की तत्काल गिरफ्तारी की मांग करते हुए झाड़ू और लाठियों के साथ सड़कों पर उतर आईं। महिलाओं ने आरोप लगाया कि शाहजहाँ और उसके सहयोगियों ने वर्षों तक उनके साथ मारपीट और शोषण किया। शनिवार को पुलिस ने संदेशखाली के विभिन्न इलाकों में धारा 144 लगा दी और 16 पंचायतों में इंटरनेट बंद कर दिया. प्रदर्शनकारियों ने हाजरा की संपत्तियों पर हमला किया और उनके पोल्ट्री फार्मों में आग लगा दी। राज्यपाल सी.वी. आनंद बोस ने स्थिति को "भयानक, चौंकाने वाला और मेरी भावनाओं को चकनाचूर कर देने वाला" बताया#livenewsinhindi
