"Creature Features" was an Australian Pet-Magazine style children's television series that aired on ABC TV Hosted by Nick Hardcastle for series 1 to 6 and Adam Saunders for series 7 and 8.
I was the puppeteer and voice Modigliana the Cat.
A memory from this episode was that Nick fell off the Camels and badly hurt his back. Landing on a radio mic concealed in the middle of your back can be rather painful. Also the farm that we shot the hostings at was run by a butcher! It didn't stay in business for very long.
It was a top-rating show that for many years won the ratings for it's time slot. Creatures Features was my first experience of doing a regular location shoot with a puppet. Filming was often challenging as I needed to work with the animals as well as being hidden from the camera. This meant often being in some rather unusual positions. As you watch just remember that there is a 6" tall male underneath Modi!
