Actions: Breaking Things. Zippy's having a more destructive day than usual, and everyone has to clear up after him. But this gives us a good opportunity to consider that, although accidents do happen, sometimes we break things on purpose - eggs, for example. This episode bears a 1979 date at the end, but unless I'm mistaken, it was originally broadcast on Wednesday, 31st December, 1980.
There's no doubt Zippy is the star of this one, but watching Geoffrey, George and Bungle just about putting up with him is always funny. There are plenty more laughs to be had in Rod, Roger (this is pre-Freddy) and Jane's song about being clumsy, and also in the story The Broken Bike, read by Bill Homewood and featuring Elephant, Giraffe and Monkey. And then we end on a big singalong of Humpty Dumpty - what more could we possibly ask for? Great fun.
There's a tiny bit of Thames continuity at the beginning, and apologies for having to snip out the opening title sequence.
