If picking up tiny seeds and placing them in a hole can help with fine motor skills that transfer over to more important parts of life that impact her independence I'm all for it. If she shows any interest at all in an activity, even if it's just for a brief moment I'm going to nurture it as much as possible...hence the gardening.
