Today I'll be going over what I believe makes for a good jungle fighting carbine.
I've always been a fan of the gear and weapons used by our forefathers back in Vietnam, in units such as MACV-SOG, Vietnam era Rangers, and LRRP teams.
These units often used shorter variations of current issued weapons, to make it easier to navigate through the thick vegetation, and just making the guns more handy in general.
I recently received a new 13.9" rifle from Blackout Defense, which due to its shorter overall length, made me think that it would be a good candidate for a sort of modern rendition of what guys would use nowadays in a similar environment.
I currently live in the South, where the terrain and vegetation is very similar to a jungle, so I believe that this rifle setup is well suited for us southern boys, where the engagement distances are not nearly as far as places further west.
Though I believe that training on whatever rifle you currently own matters more, this video just goes over what I believe to be the optimal setup for the environment I currently live in.
