China ‘deliberately humiliating’ the Albanese government

Sky News Australia The Australian Foreign Editor Greg Sheridan says China is “deliberately humiliating” the Albanese government.
Mr Sheridan’s comments come as former Australian Prime Minister Paul Keating is invited to meet with China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
There are concerns the meeting could potentially overshadow the Albanese government’s diplomatic plans.
“I don’t think a former Prime Minister should try to undermine a current government on matters of national security.
“I think the Chinese are deliberately humiliating the Albanese government because they’ve chosen the most vicious and abusive and contentious critic of government policy in Australia in order to magnify his position.
“They’re doing this to divide the Labor party and to put pressure on the Albanese government from the left … so that it won’t ever speak up in any way, disobliging to China.
“I think it’s ruthless and contemptuous of the Chinese government it’s kind of pathetic of Paul Keating.”
