Business Confidence Index plummets 9 points from Q1's 36

SABC News Confidence among local businesses continues to decline. The RMB Business Confidence Index, fell for the 5th consecutive quarter, reaching 27 in the 2nd quarter. Rolling blackouts and pressure on profitability were the main contributing factors. This is the lowest level of confidence since 2020, and suggests that only a quarter of business respondents were satisfied with prevailing business conditions.
