Ukrainian Forces Target Eliminate Russian Troops Mortar Team in the Region of Donetsk

On July 21, Ukrainian troops launched counteroffensive operations in at least three frontline locations, and they were successful in doing so.

Geolocation information that was made public on July 21 showed that Ukrainian troops had advanced in Andriivka.

According to the Ukrainian General Staff, Ukrainian forces kept up their offensive operations to the north and south of Bakhmut and drove Russian forces from their positions to the northeast of Orikhovo-Vasylivka.

Additionally, Ukrainian troops continued their offensive operations at Berdiansk, according to the Ukrainian General Staff.

Major Valerii Shershen, the spokeswoman for the Ukrainian Tavriisk Team of Forces, reported that Ukrainian army units had progressed by more than a kilometre in the direction of Melitopol.

Russian forces are unable to make up lost ground just on the Zaporizhzhia front and south of Bakhmut due to a lack of rotation and reinforcements. Furthermore, further delays in addressing the rotation and reinforcement problems south of Bakhmut could have dire repercussions for the occupation force.

On the Tavriia front, the Ukrainian Defence Forces are pushing the Russians back and securing their new positions.

Over the course of the day, the Defence Forces' artillery units fired 1,573 rounds.

Infantry troops inside the southern Zaporizhzhia area and the eastern Donetsk region primarily attribute the painfully slow progress of Ukraine to Russian minefields.

In order to retake territory, troops must traverse miles of open fields covered in thousands of mines, including anti-tank, anti-personnel, IEDs, and a variety of booby traps.

Some protection has been offered by Western armoured vehicles like the German Leopard 2 battle tanks and American Bradley fighting vehicles. However, mine attacks have disabled a large number of vehicles, stopping advances and forcing the troops to traverse minefields on foot while under fire.

Frontline soldiers claim that minefields have already compelled Ukraine to adapt. In contrast to their original plan, Ukrainian troops are trudging forward on foot and holding out hope that artillery has cleaned up a path through Russia's kilometres of landmines and heavily fortified defences.

As the battle develops, the layered Russian defences—running through numerous lines of defence and minefields—are frequently renewed; during the time it takes Ukrainian forces to advance, Russia is busy fortifying the following line of mines.

Military officials in Ukraine have stated that they require more mine-clearing tools from their allies in the West.
