As we bring Christmas of 2017 to a close we reflect on this season's beauty and wonder. How could a baby in a manger give us LIFE? Both eternally and physically?
There are so many other things that make this season bright, but thinking about it, if we take The Lord Jesus out of CHRISTmas, then we simply have Xmas, and as a wise man once said, in Arithmetic, "X"is always an unknown factor. I sure would hate to live and simply exist with an unknown eternity...
To have Christ is not some warm, fuzzy, feeling. Truly now? It is a God-confidence that He, on the cross, "tasted death" for you and in so doing, took your punishment for sin. It is knowing that your sins are as white as the snow we southerners were so thankful for a few weeks ago!
It is new LIFE as the new creation that He made us, and a peace that we will be in heaven someday, not because of anything good that we have done, but because the Creator came down one Christmas, grew to be the man, the Saviour that intercedes for us before the throne of God.
